A
Winter Lullaby
Shhhhh
Walk
softly now, the Maiden sleeps
No
winds disturb Her rest
Mute snowflakes
fall from dark night skies
and
blanket milky breast
Beneath
the snow She slumbers
Awaiting
Springtime's call
Along with acorns,
seeds and sprouts
Dead leaves
they cover all
The
stars all know Her secret
They've
told it to the moon
The restless
lamb turns round and round
within
Her watery womb
They
kick and stretch to pass the time
Impatient
to be born
But all things in their
season,
They await a frosty morn'
For
now the world's in waiting
And
Herne, He rules the day
until
that time when Spring returns
and
blows the cold away.
