New babies are starting to arrive at HMFF! This is
going to be a busy month.... The first two meat goat babies were found cold
and flat...but are ok now. See Hypothermia
page for pictures of the rescue steps.

bottlefed white commercial angora doe kid born at the end of November
2005. Great lines, but I can't keep her. She is in the process of
weaning to the bucket and taking feed and hay. If you have been wanting

Raven's Girl - a black rvbf cashgora doe
kid out of my new high dollar, reserve grand champion, registered doe and
... the dairy buck! Obviously, this was not supposed to happen... but
, well... it did. She is cute as a bug... and will probably
sport some fine silver cashgora for your handspinning pleasure . Take
your pick and breed her back to angora to get mohair....or to dairy if you want
a milker. Bargain priced at $75 after weaning.

Its time to start milking again... for awhile most of the
milk goes to the kids, but after they are weaned, then what? In a word:
CHEESE!
CAGBA Nationals in Missouri this
year!
The CAGBA
Nationals is going to be held at the Mo State Fairgrounds in
Sedalia, Mo this year. I will be teaching a training workshop
for CAGBA Inspectors and coordinating an Inspection Station. If

The National Colored Angora Show
will be judged by Mark Koenig from Kentucky. He will also be judging the
fleece show, so be sure to put this on your calendar... you
won't want to miss it! It is to be held in conjunction with the MoNCWGA
Heart of America Show which is Missouri's best fiber festival. There are
livestock shows, vendors, workshops, and so much
fun.
