Local fairgrounds adds a
Bunny Building at last!
The Gasconade County Fairgrounds
at Owensville, Mo. has FINALLY , after many years of making due with pop up
tents for its 4-H and FFA rabbit kids, decided to approve a small animal
pavilion for rabbits and poultry at the fair. This much needed improvement is
being spearheaded by local 4-H and FFA clubs. Community Bank made an
initial contribution of $1.000, with additional funds to come from grants
and private contributions. Your tax deductible donations to
this project may be made directly into an account set up at the Community
Bank of Owensville. Contributors will be recognized on a permanent sign within
the building. . The park board has agreed to install a frost free water
hydrant and electric lighting with park funds. The structure is expected to
cost approximately $15,000 and be completed in time for the 2007 fair For more
info you can call Ben Tipton , the bank president, at 573-437-4444.
Herbal Maid Fiber Farm has made a contribution to
the fund on behalf of its rabbitry and applauds the kids and their club leaders
for their initiative!
Bitter Cold on Kindling Day.... all are
lost!
We were looking foward to bunnies to tell you about in this newsletter, but
all litters were lost in the bitter cold. Trying for litters at this time
in the winter is always an iffy thing ...and subject to many variables. We
will try again for February bunnies.
