Wool Fleeces

I am starting to wash up some of the fleeces and have some washed white and black Border Leicester available .  Other fleeces will be headed off to the processor for new roving soon.  If you want any raw fleeces, check over the list in the April newsletter and let me know soon at hmffarm@fidnet.com

Raw prices: $12/lb Border  $14/lb Hybrid  $16/lb Bluefaced Leicester  . Raw fleeces must be purchased by the fleece.

Washed prices: $14/lb for white or black Border Leicester.  Washed fleece can be purchase by the pound. Check with me for availability.

Here are a few choice fleeces I pulled out this week:

Raven's fleece is a Hybrid Leicester...so finer than most Borders, but not quite as long.  Color is mostly dark silver with blonde tips... quite clean of vegetation (you may find some small bits here and there, but it will be stray hay pieces easily removed. Total raw weight is 4.5#   total price is $63.00  (at $14/lb)

Guenevere's Border Leicester fleece is very lustrous, but is also very greasy, so picked up alot of "dirt" (which will wash and pick out of the fleece, but will take extra hot water and soap)  . The locks are 6 plus inches.  Total raw weight is 3.3/4#.  Total price is $44.00 (at $12/lb)

If you would rather have something that would be easier to clean I have a recommendation for you:

Arthur's fleece.  White Border Leicester. Very uniform and low grease.  It is one of my "SHOW FLEECES" from last year and is pretty perfect if I do say so myself.  6-8 inch staple length!  I was going to post it to ebay, but will give you first crack at it.   total weight is  4 3/4#   Total price $56

Yearling Rams -
These guys will be ready to work for you this fall!  Don't wait until fall to buy a ram... they need time to settle in to their new homes. Breeding time is NOT the time to introduce stress into their lives.  I have two beautiful prospects that I held over from last year .
