Every year I keep back the most promising ram lambs to grow
out... and here they are! A set of twins born 2-9-06 out of HMFF Danielle
and Beechtree Parker. These are 3/4 Bluefaced Leicester and actually superior
fleece producers to the fullblood because they have the extra staple length and
fleece weight of the Border Leicester!

Bluefaced Leicester / 1/4 Border Leicester Yearling fleece was 5.5 lbs
and virtually NO waste. High luster. Below: the same ram after shearing so
you can see the actual coloration within. I just love that rare silver
blackbelly pattern! His fleece took the blue ribbon in its division at the
MoNCWGA Heart of America Show at Sedalia this past weekend.

A note about Danielle: my prettiest and
most elegant ewe. She produced triplets this year... so high productivity in
this line... plus stylish roman nose, clean lines, and a glorious long staple,
high luster fleece.
A note about Parker: a rare color on a rare
breed and Grand Champion Colored Ram at Michigan Fiber Fest 2006! A
twin bred by Beechtree Farms. This guy is tall and super LONG bodied with a
uniformly fine purled fleece.
