HMFF Improved Border Leicester
I have worked for years to get this right... Clean and lustrous! Finer and more uniform than most Border Leicester, without sacrificing staple length. Soft enough for sweaters, strong enough for socks. An excellent choice to blend with fine adult mohair. Staple length can be 6-10 inches with approx. 4-5 crimps per inch. Comes in white, silver and black. Sold by the fleece and occasionally smaller lots of washed locks for crafting.

a rare colored BFL fleece with characteristic tiny purled locks HMFF Bluefaced Leicester Bluefaced Leicester is a rare breed with a growing fan club! The fleeces are lighter in total weight, shorter in staple length , but OH so incredibly fine with tiny purled locks. Bluefaced Leicester is a good choice for blending with Angora bunny wool or kid mohair. Staple length is variable from 4-5 inches (unstretched) and 6-7 crimps per inch . These fleeces are from sheep that are 1/2 Border and 1/2 Bluefaced Leicester and are the best of both worlds. All the fineness of the Bluefaced Leicester and all the luster, length and uniformity of our Border Leicester! HMFF Hybrid Leicester fleeces are a spinners dream and blend well with yearling mohair. About fleece quality: Fleeces are carefully handsheared, skirted once at shearing for any manure or felted tags and then skirted again (before weighing) for any bits of vegetation or other irregularity. All you get is the good stuff! If you don't like it... return it intact within 10 days for a refund of your purchase price.
